he did not say he had given up on the flag he mearly stated that winning one is not a panacea that will ensure future happiness- there are many premieship players who do not have happy lives. http://media.theage.com.au/sport/afl-real-footy/st-kilda-nick-riewoldt-4122106.html Either interpretation i...

When Milney boots 4 we rarely loose. If he boots 5 we never loose. We need more Milneys!

If BJ goes off at his team mates for stuffing up he'll get a kicking! Nice to see Paleface Adios there to add a touch of colour and speed at CHF. A few too many one-paced types in the team, though. Black Caviar of a flank feeding off Paleface could tear the opposition apart with her speed.

The Pascoe brothers. Scary as the Krays. Barry was ours IIRC. and his bro at North? Spot on whiskers. I think Barry got many weeks for kicking. Brother was at North. Can't remember his first name. Was it Len like the fast bowler? Very wrong, not Barry. "Big" Bob Pascoe copped 10 weeks for...

Re: The All-Time St Kilda Left Footers XXV
Nobody has mentioned John McIntosh; when he swang around on his left foot he could ht a team mate 50 metres downfield on the chest every time. Second only to Stewie in my opinion. A decade later, George Young was a fantastic if somewhat forgotten player in a very ordinary team.

Re: Window bolted shut?
I was talking to some opposition supporters at the cricket yesterday. A couple of Carltons, a Collingwood and an Essendon. The consensus was that we will not improve in 2013, that we had our chance and didn't take it. I said, "we'll see" and pointed out that (apart from not nabbing a full...

You mean EXTREMELY sincere apologies to Alan Morrow (my apologies if you are too young to have witnessed one of the all-time greatest Saints).quidnunc wrote:I think that Glen Elliott was the best player I have seen to wear the number 8 for the Saints. Sincere apologies to Max Hudghton.

Why do they have to mess with the design again? Putting black on the shoulder like that is a significant change. I don't give a rat's tossbag if it looks better. It's a change to our jumper without any consultation. Pick a design eg. http://mm.afl.com.au/Portals/0/images_saints/article_images/Copy%...

Re: Replacement for Lenny Sam Colquhoun
When Lenny arrived so many seasons ago I always noticed him being like the young pup learning to muster cattle / herd sheep under the tutalage of a master, ie, the erstwhile Sir Robert Harvey. Back then, I thought Banger's retirement wasn't too far into the future - who would have thought he would h...

is 194 big enough to be the second ruckman Well he is 2 inches taller than Jason Blake. Anyway if we get Hickey he wont need to be used as a 2nd ruckman. That is true but where the hell does Hickey play when not rucking. That has always been my issue on the second ruckman in a side. Sandringham! :)

Not sure why people think he could be a good player in another team and play consistent footy when he really only played a handful of good games with us over 8 years .....my mates still laugh when his name is mentioned. Which tells us plenty about Middo and his mates, I'm afraid. No chance of you f...

Yes, I'm talking about Goddard leaving for the Essendon/Toll money; Lets hope that Nettlefold has been on the phone to the AFL already DEMANDING a home game v Essendon in Round 1 2013, with a return match later in the season. That way, we as a club not only get the chance to pick up 8 Premiership P...

No encouragement required. Incureable Saints Disease means quitting is not an option :) Got my first junior membership in 1964, my Dad signed me up with the Cheer Squad in '66 and I will always remember him dropping me on Grand Final day at the Brunton Avenue entrance to the 'G on GF day that year ...

Already started in next winter's firewood, moved a few horses to fresher paddockes, fixed a leaking trough and even took the wife and daughter for a Sunday drive before today's game. I'll have to slow down or the missus wil suspect something sinister is going on.

I was there. That's it; officially feeling old now :( I must admit I missed that last game but I did see Plugger boot 12 against the Bears in 1992. The worst thing Doc is that I was there for the FIRST game in '65 - That is just plain old ! By the way, we beat the Filth that day 8.12 to 8.6 thanks ...

Don't judge him on today, his knee is still a bit iffy after the North game. No doubt the injury he is carrying was a deciding factor not to contest his fortnight's suspension. He'll strip much fitter for the Bulldogs next Sunday,
